You know what would be awesome?
motherjones: Is if people got as pissed off about new bank debit-card fees (and overdraft fees, and ATM fees, and transaction fees, and credit card fees) as they did about a Netflix price hike.

sukiyakiterriyaki replied to your post: So I was vacuuming upstairs. A what vacuum? It sounds possessed. You should exorcise it. But put your ankle up first. Ugh, I don’t even know how I did it.  It will be fine, but fuck it really hurt when I initially did it.  Thank goodness for ace wraps from work.

So I was vacuuming upstairs.
I have one of those vacuums that isn’t upright, but rather a base that you sort of drag around behind the vacuum part.  ANYWAY.  I grabbed the hose and gave the base a hard tug to pull it out of one of the bedrooms.  Apparently, I am stronger than I thought because it came flying toward me, hit my ankle at just the right ankle, and I minorly sprained it.  Go me.  Only I would manage to...

suicideblonde replied to your post: I love reading books on my iPad. bookstores are failing because new hardcover books cost upwards of 30 dollars. I want to buy the whole Songs of Ice and Fire but I can not afford that. A trade paperback cost $8 and a nice quality paperback is at least double that.  As much as I like books, it’s often easier to purchase an e-book at almost half the...

I love reading books on my iPad.
And I also love the seven foot tall bookcase my father just built me. Bookstores aren’t failing because of e-readers.  They are failing because of a shitty economy.  Trust me.  As must as I love reading books on my iPad, it will never replace my physical books.  It just saves me the shame of buying young adult/shitty paperbacks/etc at the counter at the Barnes & Noble. Speaking of the...

Mother Jones: 6 Dumb Arguments Against Taxing the... →
paxamericana: It’s class warfare! Yeah right. Three decades of laissez-faire economic polices have allowed the rich to double their share of the national income while paying tax rates a fifth lower than before. The result, notes Kevin Drum, was “wage stagnation for everyone else, a massive financial collapse that ravaged the middle class, an enormous deficits that they’ll be asked to pay off...

Are we seeing everything in the wrong order?
gloctorwho: The Doctor dropped the Ponds off at a new house at the end of The God Complex. The Impossible Astronaut saw them settling into a new house. The Impossible Astronaut started with them saying they hadn’t seen him for months. The Doctor said in The God Complex that he was guaranteed to see them again some time, as if he knew. … The God Complex seems to be BEFORE The Impossible...

Apparently since the floods, they have been overrun with stray and displaced animals.  I also stopped in the cat room and had to leave before I took home a little gray kitten named Gabby.  Overall, I am pretty amazed at the amount of charity and help coming from the community.  The grocery stores even have pre-made bags of needed supplies that you can buy.  I can’t recall hearing about stuff...
